BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news in China.

SATELLITE LAUNCH

China sent a new Earth observation satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Monday. The satellite, Gaofen-12 03, was launched by a Long March-4C carrier rocket at 11:46 p.m. (Beijing Time) and has entered the planned orbit successfully.

IPR PROTECTION ASSISTANCE

The total number of China's intellectual property rights (IPR) protection assistance service agencies has amounted to more than 1,300.

China handled more than 47,000 applications for IPR protection assistance in 2021. More than 700 universities and social organizations, 109 volunteering teams and over 7,800 experts have participated in the IPR protection assistance services.

ULTRA-BLACK COATING

Chinese researchers have developed an ultra-black coating with stable performance, which can absorb up to 99.8 percent of the wide spectrum.

Ultra-black coating can absorb almost any light that falls on it and is widely used in precision optical instruments.
